The Oticon brand of hearing aids has a stellar record as an innovator in the field. This was once again recognized recently by the Consumer Electronics Association, which awarded the Oticon Xceed and Oticon RemoteCare as winners of its 2020 Innovation Awards.

These awards span sectors and annually highlight the best consumer electronics products to make it to market. It’s the fourth year in a row that Oticon products have been honored, including three Best of Innovation accolades.

“By providing a global showcase for our newest hearing technology, prestigious awards like the CES Innovation Awards help us to show the world the wide-ranging possibilities of modern hearing technology to improve not only hearing, but quality of life,” stated Oticon’s President Gary Rosenblum in announcing the honor.

In the Health & Wellness category, the Xceed was acknowledged for bringing increased clarity and enhanced overall hearing results for those with severe-to-profound hearing loss. Incorporating a number of trademarked technologies — OpenSound Navigator, OpenSound Optimizer, and BrainHearing — the Xceed is a high-powered hearing aid that leaves the feedback that has historically hampered such units behind.

For all users, Oticon RemoteCare will enhance the level of individualized support that hearing health professionals can provide their patients. With the RemoteCare App, data is shared from a user’s hearing aid with care providers via wireless Internet communication. The performance record created can then be used to fine-tune and troubleshoot performance — which can even be done remotely, without the need for an office visit.

This is especially advantageous in the first few weeks after a new hearing aid is purchased, during the inevitable “breaking in” period. It can be shortened, better results created, and the chore of scheduling the getting to and from in-person appointments eliminated.
